Acute and Early HIV1 Infection in Childbearing Women during Pregnancy and Postpartum Period in Tanzania, Zambia, and Botswana
National HIV prevention programs in Tanzania, Zambia, and Botswana must effectively address the infection rate among childbearing women during pregnancy and the postpartum period.
Kenya and Zimbabwe both have maternal mortality rates of over 1 000 per 100 000 live births. Most of these deaths could be averted even where resources are limited. But, the right kind of information is needed upon which to base action.
