Strengthening the use of scientific evidence to inform climate policy

Over the last decade, IDRC has supported several capacity building efforts in the field of climate change in Africa.
According to the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific, Southeast Asia has been experiencing more frequent climate-related disaster events and an exponential increase in annual deaths for the past thirty years.
The Congo Basin holds approximately 40% of African water discharge and is critical to continental and local water security.
