This grant will allow the Council on Health Research for Development (COHRED) to create, host and maintain a web-based resource on national health research in low- and middle-income countries in partnership with institutions in the South.
This project seeks to improve incentives and opportunities for households in southern Zambia and southwestern Zimbabwe to cope with climate change.
Research results have no value unless they are made available for due consideration by practitioners and policymakers. Scientific articles are not enough.
Because of the prevalence and intensity of poverty, populations in sub-Saharan Africa are highly vulnerable to the negative impacts of climate change, particularly those who depend on an environment that is already degraded.
In November 2001, IDRC supported the establishment of a research network on the theme of equal access to health services in West Africa under project 101160.
