About STIPRO
STIPRO's mission is to improve human capacity in science, technology and innovation (STI) policy research. It also aims to raise awareness among government officials and parliamentarians of the critical role of this research for evidence-based STI policies. Its research program focuses on linking food security, agricultural and industrial development, health, technology, and the environment. STIPRO receives its funding from the Think Tank Initiative (TTI).
Influence through evidence
TTI is a multi-funder program dedicated to strengthening independent policy research institutions, or think tanks, in developing countries. The program aims to enhance their ability to provide sound research that informs and influences policy.
This second TTI phase (2014?2019) will fund 43 institutions. It will help them consolidate their role as credible development actors in their countries, and in some cases, regionally and internationally. For STIPRO, this project will help enhance its research quality, organizational performance, and policy engagement.
Enhancing research, performance, and policy engagement
Through this support over the next 4.5 years, STIPRO is expected to
-expand its research team with master's degree holders in STIPRO's field of research

-raise the quantity, quality, and policy relevance of its research
-improve the functioning of its Board by ensuring regular meetings, strategic guidance to STIPRO staff, and a leadership transition plan
-incorporate a sound financial management system and audit reports with timely and accurate financial reporting to IDRC and other funders
-attract alternative sources of funding
-become recognized for its rigorous, policy-relevant research
