TTI Phase 2 Institutional Support: Centre for Policy Research

This funding will enhance the Centre for Policy Research's (CPR) role as a credible public policy institution in India by strengthening its ability to provide high-quality, influential, and policy-relevant research.

About the Centre for Policy Research
CPR is an independent, non-partisan research institute focused on improving policy-making and management, and promoting national development in India. CPR's research covers areas including law, regulation and policy, accountability and governance, urbanization, security, and foreign policy. The centre receives its funding from the Think Tank Initiative (TTI).

Developing-country think tanks
TTI is a multi-funder program dedicated to strengthening independent policy research institutions, or think tanks, in developing countries. The program aims to enhance their ability to provide sound research that informs and influences policy.

This second TTI phase (2014?2019) will fund 43 institutions, helping them consolidate their role as credible development actors in their countries, and in some cases, regionally and internationally. For CPR, this project will help enhance its research quality, organizational performance, and policy engagement.

Policy influence in India
Through this support over the next 4.5 years, CPR is expected to
-strengthen its institutional capacity to leverage funding through a diverse range of partners, including the private sector, private philanthropists, government, and foundations
-enhance its communications and outreach, reaching new audiences nationally, regionally, and globally through innovative platforms and channels
-retain its commitment to academic freedom, research excellence, and ability to work in a wide variety of research fields.
