Strengthening National and International Collaboration to End Poverty and Injustice - 2007-2009

This two-year grant will continue IDRC's support to the Canadian Council for International Co-operation (CCIC), with a view to enhancing the capacity of CCIC members for learning, innovation, policy research and development, in partnership with Southern actors. The specific goals of CCIC are to support timely policy research on issues central to ending global poverty and injustice; to build partnerships with global networks of civil society organizations (CSOs); and to improve the capacity of Canadian CSOs to engage Canadians - particularly young Canadians - as global citizens. These objectives will be achieved through programs on the following five themes: civil society and aid effectiveness; ensuring trade rules support the principles of equity and human rights; development, peace and security; ecological justice; and public engagement for global citizenship.
