Punto J : a Portal for Youth-to-Youth Education on Health and HIV/AIDS - Phase II

Punto J, funded under project 103077-Phase I, enables young people to use information and communication technologies (ICTs) to create awareness of, and promote leadership and participation in, the battle against HIV/AIDS. Young volunteers, mostly from marginalized areas of Lima, are trained to take up the challenge of providing information and guidance on sexuality and HIV/AIDS prevention to other adolescents and young people. The project has generated wide interest as evident in the full endorsement it has received from the Ministry of Health (Peru), and the number of countries - six - represented at the final workshop. This grant will consolidate and extend Punto J to five additional countries in Latin America and the Caribbean: Argentina, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador and Mexico.
