An investigation into the determinants of business performance in Francophone Africa

High-performing businesses are currently seen as a source of job and wealth creation, essential elements of a strategy for inclusive growth. This project aims to contribute to a better understanding of the determinants of business productivity in Francophone Africa. Findings will offer further insights for policymakers looking to strengthen business competitiveness. Researchers will draw on data collected from 1,800 businesses of various sizes, in both the public and private sector, and will look at lawfully established companies, as well as those operating outside the legal framework. Quantitative and qualitative data analysis will inform public policy recommendations and the publishing of findings, thus, contributing to the economic literature.
