Institutional Support : Kenya Institute for Public Policy Research and Analysis (KIPPRA)

In 2006 the Government of Kenya passed an Act of Parliament making the Kenya Institute for Public Policy Research and Analysis (KIPPRA) the government's lead socioeconomic research institute. The Act exerts enormous demands on KIPPRA at a time when it is trying to recover from the senior staff turnover suffered in recent years. KIPPRA will use this grant from IDRC's Think Tank Initiative to restore and expand its ability to provide high-quality, policy-relevant research by training and recruiting in-house expertise, improving its organizational systems, adopting a strategic plan, and putting in place an effective monitoring and evaluation system to ensure that the objectives of the grant are met.
