Institutional Support : Canadian International Council - National Capital Branch (CIC-NCB)

The Canadian International Council (CIC) aims to provide Canadians with a nonpartisan, nationwide institution for the advancement of research and dialogue on international affairs, and to support the creation of a Canadian foreign policy network that crosses academic disciplines, policy focus and commercial sectors. As a significant player in the overall CIC network, the National Capital Branch (CIC-NCB) has chosen to focus on sustainable peace and development. The NCB has an ambitious program of work comprising research on current issues pursued through relationships with universities and other research bodies, and links with research institutions worldwide; building effective networks of scholars and practitioners; strengthening public discourse on international affairs; and providing forums for policymakers to explore policy options.

This grant will provide the NCB with two years of core support so that it can establish itself as a credible player in Ottawa, and as a useful resource for the rest of the network.
