Institute for Connectivity in the Americas - Phase II

The potential of information and communication technologies (ICTs) as tools for development is increasingly being recognized at the highest political level. The Institute for Connectivity in the Americas successfully completed more than 70 projects in Latin America and the Caribbean under the first phase of support (101083). This grant will enable ICA to continue facilitating the coordination, collaboration and sharing of efforts across countries through the use of ICTs around three themes: citizenship (governance); enablers (health, education); and economy. This will include establishing regional networks in support of delivery of health to the poor, and devising innovative mechanisms for increased citizen participation and democratic governance.
