Innovations for Inclusive Knowledge-based Economies in Asia - Phase II

Learning Initiatives for Network Economies in Asia (LIRNEasia) seeks to identify institutional constraints to the effective use of information and communication technologies (ICTs) to improve people's lives. LIRNEasia achieved a fair degree of success during its first five years of operation (projects 103017 and 104918). During the current phase, researchers will continue to study the demand for mobile and Internet access and the supply of telecommunications through sector performance reviews. They will pose new questions on innovative uses of ICT for productive purposes, especially in agriculture. The idea is to advance evidence-based policymaking and regulation of ICTs in support of more efficient and inclusive agricultural value chains in the context of an integrated world economy.
