Information Society Innovation Fund Asia

IDRC's Pan Asia Networking (PAN) program initiative has about 10 years experience with small grants funding. The small grants modality has allowed PAN to sample the region for research priorities, emerging research issues and players, and has resulted in innovative interventions such as mobile applications in the fields of health (PANACEA), distance education (PANdora) and localization (development of Urdu Nastalique fonts). This project will launch the next phase of the small grants program under the name of the Information Society Innovation Fund Asia (ISIF.Asia). Emphasis will be placed on meeting the unmet needs of developing countries in the Asia Pacific with respect to Internet infrastructure and services.
