Information and Communication Technologies for Development in the Middle East : Exploration

This project seeks to foster an inclusive knowledge society by building capacity to apply information and communication technology (ICT) to human, social and economic development in the Middle East, specifically Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine (West Bank and Gaza), Syria and Yemen.

The project will focus on the areas of education and employability, women's participation, governance, and community and local development. It will do so through a small grants program, one regional project, a training workshop, and a donors' meeting and outreach activity. The last will be held during the third Global Knowledge Conference (GK3) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, December 2007.
