Influence of Information and Communication Technologies on the Job Market in Sénégal

Information and communication technologies (ICTs) have become a key element in economic development and poverty reduction strategies in Sénégal. However, although the economic structure of the country seems to have been perceptibly modified by ICTs, very little research has been carried out to determine the effects of these technologies on growth, mainly through one of its basic constituents, the job market. This grant will allow the national office for vocational training (ONFP) in partnership with the research and training centre for economic and social development (CREFDES) of Cheikh Anta Diop University to carry out a study of the influence of ICTs on the job market. The results of the projects will provide ONFP with an objective basis for elaborating an appropriate strategy for vocational training.
