Implementation of the Framework Convention on Tobacco Control in Cambodia and Lao PDR

This grant will allow the Southeast Asia Tobacco Control Alliance (SEATCA) to coordinate a research program in support of the successful implementation (in the case of Cambodia) and ratification (in the case of Lao PDR) of the World Health Organization's Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (WHO FCTC).

The project will involve compiling local evidence in support of strong national tobacco control legislation, and training advocates and researchers to communicate effectively with policymakers and the media. Tobacco control working groups will be formed in both countries to serve as a learning platform for advancing policy.
