Healthy China 2020 : Policy and Technology Evaluation

In April 2009, China issued a new round of health sector reform policies aimed at providing a blueprint for universal basic healthcare coverage for all by 2020. The China Health Economics Institute (CHEI) within the Chinese Ministry of Health is responsible for research and evaluation in support of the new policies through the newly created China Centre for Health Policy and Technology Evaluation (CHPTE). This grant will provide the Institute and the Centre with the necessary capacity building to carry out their mandate of monitoring and evaluating progress toward the 2020 goal. It will also enable the Institute to become a leading regional centre in health policy evaluation.
