Global Forum for Health Research 2008-2009

Since its foundation in 1998, the Global Forum for Health Research (GFHR) has sought to focus greater attention and resources on research that will improve the health of the poor, marginalized and disadvantaged. The Forum has also become an authoritative and independent source of reliable data, practical tools and robust arguments for health research and innovation in favour of the poor.

This grant will provide the GFHR with 24 months of core funding as it begins its new 2008-2014 strategy. The Forum will interact closely with decision-makers, funding agencies, research bodies and research leaders with a view to drawing attention to the health problems of the poor, promoting evidence-based policymaking and brokering partnerships for investment in research for the health of the poor.
