Experiment in Collaborative Learning Network for Enhanced Cooperation Programs : CUSO-LAC (Latin America and the Caribbean)

Since 1961, CUSO has sent approximately 11 000 Canadians abroad to work at the local level on various development issues. CUSO is now in the process of merging with Voluntary Services Overseas (VSO) Canada, and is seeking to validate the importance of knowledge sharing and collaborative learning in development practice. This two-year pilot project will allow CUSO-LAC (Latin America and the Caribbean) to assess how, in the context of human resource-based development cooperation, collaborative learning and sharing of knowledge can effectively help key development organizations achieve better results. Participants will monitor the conditions, process and results of collaborative networking in a particular region and on a specific theme. They will share knowledge in the form of thematic information, best practices, policy analysis, practical methodologies and tools, online courses and seminars, coaching and mentoring, face-to-face exchanges, and workshops.
