Empowerment of Marginalized Producer Groups through Fair Trade Practices

Fair Trade Forum is a market-based approach to empowering producers and promoting sustainability. Fair Trade Forum India (FTF I) is the national network of fair trade organizations and federations throughout India. As part of the Fair Trade commitment to the environment, members develop a range of ecologically friendly products.

This grant will allow FTF I to reach out to six existing producer groups and four fair-trade organizations in the National Capital Region, offering them capacity building and better market access. It is expected that the target groups will act as a catalyst for other producer groups, and that the FTF I will strengthen its monitoring and evaluation practices.

The project is part of the Good Neighbour initiative, which aims to address social and development issues in the environs of IDRC's Regional Office for South Asia (SARO) in New Delhi.
