African Network Operators Group (AfNOG) Training Workshops and Network Capacity Building

The African Network Operators Group (AfNOG) is a forum for technical cooperation and coordination between African network operators and engineers from the region's universities, research institutions and industry. This year, AfNOG's training workshops and meetings will be held in Rabat, Morocco, between 24 May and 6 June 2008. As in previous years, AfNOG will work in close collaboration with the Association of African Universities (AAU); AfriNIC, the Regional Registry for Internet Number Resources for Africa; and the African Research and Education Networks (AfREN) forum. Together they will provide specific training and technical sessions to strengthen the management of campus networks. This grant will provide core support for the training sessions and meeting; participant support for African operators who manage large networks; and an evaluation of past and current AfNOG activities. The last should provide the management council with guidance as they plan for the organization's future.
