TTI Phase 2 Institutional Support: Fundacio´n INESAD

This funding will help strengthen Fundacio´n INESAD's role as a credible public policy institution in Bolivia by enhancing its ability to provide high-quality, influential, and policy-relevant research.

About Fundacio´n INESAD
Also known as Fundacio´n INESAD, the Instituto de Estudios Avanzados en Desarrolla (Institute for Advanced Development Studies) is an independent organization that promotes scientific research on themes relevant to developing countries, particularly to Bolivia. INESAD conducts research in areas including education, public health, migration, social mobility, globalization, and aid effectiveness. It receives its funding from the Think Tank Initiative (TTI).

Improving quality, performance, and influence
TTI is a multi-funder program dedicated to strengthening independent policy research institutions, or think tanks, in developing countries. The program aims to enhance their ability to provide sound research that informs and influences policy.

This second TTI phase (2014?2019) will fund 43 institutions, helping them consolidate their role as credible development actors in their countries, and in some cases, regionally and internationally. For INESAD, this project will help enhance its research quality, organizational performance, and policy engagement.

More research, better engagement
Through this support over the next 4.5 years, INESAD is expected to
-establish a formal research quality assurance framework across all research areas
-increase research outputs (working papers and peer-reviewed articles)
-increase national and international exposure
-increase engagement with policy communities for evidence-based policy influence
-build policymakers' capacity through knowledge sharing strategies
-become a strategic organization through regular planning exercises and implementation of the resource mobilization and communications strategies.
