“This Memorandum of Understanding reaffirms a shared commitment to evidence and innovation in India with the objective of social and economic advancement — particularly of women,” said IDRC President Jean Lebel.
During the signing of the MoU, Joint Secretary of the Department of Economic Affairs, Shri S. Selvakumar, expressed his appreciation for IDRC’s contributions in supporting quality research in fields such as finance, agriculture, industry and health in India. "We are pleased to sign the MoU, which renews our association and acknowledges and supports IDRC’s work in India," he said.
IDRC has been active in India since 1972, and has had a regional office in New Delhi for the last 35 years. That office currently oversees IDRC’s support to development researchers and institutions in 18 countries in the region.
