Canada-Latin America and Caribbean Zika Virus Research Program

May 10, 2016

A new funding opportunity on Zika virus is responding to the virus outbreak and the health threat it represents for the affected populations in the hardest hit countries in Latin America and the Caribbean.

The Canadian Institutes for Health Research and the International Development Research Centre, working with parameters set by the Global Research Collaboration for Infectious Disease Preparedness (GloPID-R), are investing in areas where new knowledge on Zika virus will help develop diagnostics for Zika virus infection, understand the causes and effects of the the virus, and ultimately prevent its transmission and morbidity.
