Richard Samans, managing director at the World Economic Forum (WEF), will demystify inclusive growth at an event co-hosted by IDRC and WEF on April 25, 2017.

Samans will share key insights from WEF’s recently published Inclusive Growth and Development Report. A new global index that was launched with the report helps to assess whether and to what degree national structures and institutions have shaped growth in a way that is inclusive.

Peru’s former Minister of Development and Social Inclusion Carolina Trivelli, currently a senior researcher at the Instituto de Estudios Peruanos, will discuss various policy approaches to inclusive growth.

The event is part of a multi-year collaboration between IDRC and WEF to reshape the way donors, civil society, local governments, and the private sector work together. By documenting and promoting both successful and less successful inclusive development practices, the collaboration aims to steer the world’s growth-oriented development strategies in the most effective directions. It will showcase policy models, corporate partnerships, and multi-stakeholder partnerships for inclusive development in a practical, searchable, and digital knowledge bank.
