Climate emergency in Central Africa: Impacts and insights
IDRC invites you to join a conversation about the “Climate Emergency in Central Africa: Impacts and Insights”.
Following the conversation about West Africa last March, this webinar is also based on the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Working Group II Sixth Assessment Report (WGII AR6) released in February 2022. The purpose of this webinar is to provide an opportunity for participation in the dissemination of the findings of the WGII AR6 and to strengthen IDRC’s climate change leadership and assistance in raising awareness of African insights on adaptation science.
Our speakers include:
Dr. Edmond Totin – Lecturer at the Université Nationale d’Agriculture in Benin and co-author of the Africa chapter of the IPCC Working Group II Sixth Assessment Report;
Marguerite Nzuzi Kenge – Sociologist and expert on gender and social issues;
- Dr. Denis Sonwa - Senior Scientist, Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR);
Gervais Ludovic Itsoua Madzous – Expert in natural resource management and climate change – Former Deputy Executive Secretary and Technical Coordinator of the Commission des Forêts d’Afrique Centrale (COMIFAC).
