The World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) brings together key stakeholders from different sectors to debate and exchange thoughts on the future of the information society. The WSIS is organized in two phases -Phase I was hosted in Geneva  (December 10-12, 2003) and Phase II is to be hosted in Tunis (16-18 November 2005).  IDRC has a breadth of experience researching the impact of ICTs in developing countries and continues to actively participate in the WSIS process.
