The Post-Mining Alliance wants to bring industry stakeholders together to address the major social (and cultural), economic, environmental and technical issues surrounding mine closure and the negative aspects of orphaned and abandoned mines. Its work will be devoted to: avoiding future mine legacy by integrated planning for mine closure; working towards ending current negative legacy issues by regenerating mined out areas; and engaging consumers in debate about the future mining industry they want and highlighting the role that they can play in achieving it.
