The upcoming World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) (Geneva, 2003; Tunis, 2005) will provide a platform for dialogue on the central role ICTs play in human development, as well as a unique opportunity to engage governments, the private sector, civil society, and international organizations in a forward-looking action plan.  IDRC and its partners have been engaged in the WSIS Preparatory Process from the onset and will have a strong presence at the Summit.

IDRC is organizing two workshops at the ICT4D Platform, exhibit projects at the Canadian Pavilion, Webcast interviews and special coverage from the Summit, and participate in numerous workshops and events to promote digital inclusion in the information society.
