  • Between 1994 and 1996, China reported at least 3 million deaths from urban air pollution.
  • It is estimated that up to one in five lung cancer cases in the United States is due to vehicle emissions.
  • Approximately 2 million children under five die each year from acute respiratory infections, which are aggravated by air pollution.
