PAN - PanAsia R&D Grants Program

This project will start up and anchor the fourth component of the Pan Asia Networking (PAN) program, "Collaborative Research on Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) and Policies." This is a major objective that is reflected in the "PAN Networking Program Initiative (PI) Prospectus: a program to the year 2000." The project is to prepare the way for PAN PI support intervention in the area of applications research. It is to activate a scheme of small grants to fund research and development projects in the area of networking applications, policies, regulatory issues and technologies that aim to provide solutions to specific development problems in the Asia Pacific Region. The project, which is initially for one year, will be administrated by IDRC's Southeast and East Regional Office (ASRO) on an experimental basis.
