Prev Web site(s) 11 of 28 Next

Abandoned mines are a key source of pollution in Canada. They are a serious and immediate danger to human health and the environment — they are costing taxpayers millions of dollars in clean-up, health impacts such as cancers, and lost fishery and farm income. Report sections include: - Guiding principles for the reclamation of abandoned mines, - A survey of bonding practices and abandoned mine programs in selected mining jurisdictions of Canada, - A preliminary survey of programs from other countries.
