IDRC's Vice President of Programs, Rohinton Medhora, warms up the crowd during the GK3 opening ceremony, with the help of local drummers. Some 1,700 participants from 128 countries gathered at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre in Malaysia's capital, to share knowledge and build partnerships. Medhora was also a panelist in the session Financing Change in ICT4D: Innovation & Emerging Social Investors and Donors. He spoke of IDRC's long history of including ICTs in its programming, the perceived risks in investing in ICT4D activities, and how to break the mould of "traditional" donor financing to engage other sectors. He also stressed that while being an important tool for development, ICTs cannot be the only solution.
