Abstract
This project aims to build the capacity of populations in the urban community of Cotonou to cope with flooding. It will do so through a participatory diagnosis, analysis and planning process for sustainable flood prevention strategies. The process will involve local populations (including vulnerable groups), civil society actors, elected officials and opinion leaders. Throughout the process, researchers will map and valorize the various types of knowledge (endogenous, scientific and technical, administrative, etc.) used in flood prevention and management.
