The advances in research on ICT4D chronicled in this volume are the work of Pan Asia Networking' s many excellent partners in Asia. These include project team leaders, project staff, and countless individuals in the private sector, public sector institutions and civil society. PAN wishes to acknowledge their commitment and creativity in furthering research on ways of improving peoples' lives through ICTs. A special thanks to project leaders who responded quickly to information requests and provided useful documentation for this volume. PAN would also like to thank Renald Lafond and Maria Ng, who were both instrumental in building the program over the past 10 years. Alongside other PAN staff, Renald and Maria have worked tirelessly and have been the essence of PAN since its inception.
As team leader of PAN, Renald has demonstrated his vision and dedication, which will be sorely be missed when he retires. Significant contributions were also made by Chaitali Sinha, the coordinator of this volume, as well as Frank Tulus and PAN' s new team leader, Laurent Elder. Finally, PAN would like to acknowledge the work of contributing
writers Neale MacMillan and Ania Wasileski in producing this volume.
