Supporting knowledge and innovation

IDRC’s work in West and Central Africa revolves around strengthening long-term local research capacities. Our goal? To reduce poverty, improve health, and enhance social equity in the region.

We fund a vast range of projects in the region. Our grantees are looking at ways to better manage natural resources to ensure food, water, and income security. Their research is informing policies that foster scientific creativity and innovation. And they’re exploring how information and communication technologies can spur development and reduce poverty.

Their projects, both past and present, can be searched by program and by theme.
