IDRC-funded researchers and institutions in South Asia and China examine issues and develop solutions to the challenges brought on by rapid growth and resulting inequities.

Our grantees tackle a broad range of issues. From avian influenza responses to rebuilding Afghanistan’s research institutions, our support and their efforts are yielding results. They look at disaster management, and how to reduce vulnerabilities to earthquakes, tsunamis, torrential rains, and landslides. They also develop strategies to cope with intensified urbanization and its impact on the environment.

There’s much more, too. The results of the work we support can be searched below—in books, research reports, policy briefs, and other materials.
