Research that improves lives and livelihoods

We support research initiatives that can be applied in practice and inform policy throughout South Asia and China.

IDRC’s capacity-building efforts in the region focus on creating regional networks that link researchers, citizens, and non-governmental organizations. We also fund regional collaboration. For example, we support cooperation between researchers in China and India, who are investigating rural health care, informal work issues, piracy in cultural industries, and food supply chains.

Our grantees’ projects—both past and present—demonstrate the value of their work. They can be searched by program and by theme.
