Real change through learning

Throughout Lebanon, Palestinian refugee women seeking higher education are hampered by severe poverty, their gender, and a lack of opportunities. Entire generations of bright young women either never earn a degree or have to abandon their studies.

Since 2000, IDRC’s Scholarship Fund for Palestinian Refugee Women has been making a difference in their lives. We have helped hundreds of highly qualified Palestinian women develop the skills they need to support their families and community. Our goal? To help women with good academic records achieve their educational dreams, regardless of their social and economic circumstances.

The last selection of students was made in 2009 and the scholarship fund will close in 2012.
