New call for research on risks, impacts of disease and climate change in Africa
23/07/2012
The World Health Organization’s Special Programme for Research and Training in Tropical Diseases (TDR), with IDRC funding, is launching a call for letters of interest as part of its research initiative on vector-borne diseases and climate change in Africa. This initiative aims to build an evidence base on the connections between vector-borne diseases and the environmental, socio-economic, and socio-political risks and vulnerabilities that increase the impact of climate change. The research will help developing countries create strategies for anticipating, preventing, or reducing these risks.
Grants of up to US$600,000 will be awarded to carry out cutting-edge research in Africa.
For more information, please visit the TDR website.
Deadline for applications: September 10, 2012.
